Credits, Returns & Refund Policy

1. Faulty or Defective Goods

We stand behind the quality of our aluminium products. If an item is faulty, damaged, or does not meet Australian Consumer Law requirements, we will happily arrange:

• a replacement,
• repair, or
• a refund (for major faults).

Please inspect all items before installation, cutting, powder coating, or modification, as goods cannot be refunded once altered.

If you believe your goods are faulty:

• Notify us immediately, and
• Provide proof of purchase and photos of the issue.

2. Change of Mind Returns

Because many Sunshine Alutrade products are custom manufactured, not all items are eligible for change of mind returns.

Eligible for Return (Non-Custom Items)

We accept change-of-mind returns on standard stocked items not cut, fabricated, powder-coated, or customised, provided that:

• You return the goods within 30 days of purchase
• Goods are in original, unused condition
• Goods are in full, undamaged packaging, suitable for resale
• You provide the original tax invoice / receipt

Not Eligible for Return

• Custom sizes
• Custom fabrication
• Cut-to-size materials
• Powder-coated items
• Special orders sourced from outside suppliers
• Clearance or discontinued products
• Items sold at discounted/wholesale pricing

Because custom goods are produced specifically for your project, these items cannot be refunded or cancelled unless faulty under Australian Consumer Law.

3. Restocking Fees

For approved change-of-mind returns, a 30% restocking fee applies to cover handling, storage, and transport costs.

Fee Waiver

If goods are returned within 7 days of purchase and are fully eligible for return, we may waive the restocking fee.

Freight or transport costs for returning goods to the warehouse may also be deducted unless Sunshine Alutrade is at fault.

4. Order Cancellations

Standard Stock Orders

You may cancel an order for stocked items within 7 days with no penalty, provided the order has not yet been processed or dispatched.

If the order is already prepared, packed, or in transit, a cancellation fee of 30% of the invoice value may apply.

Custom & Special Orders

Orders that involve any of the following cannot be cancelled once placed:

• custom fabrication
• cut-to-size items
• powder-coated items
• special supplier orders
• colour matching or made-to-order items

These items are produced specifically for you and cannot be resold.

5. Conditions of Return

For returns approved under this policy:

• Goods must be unused, uninstalled, uncut, and unmodified
• Items must be returned in their original packaging
• Goods must be in re-saleable condition
• You are responsible for safe transport of the goods
• Sunshine Alutrade is not liable for damage during return freight
• Freight or transport charges are non-refundable unless we are at fault

We recommend ensuring goods are properly wrapped and insured during transport.

6. Australian Consumer Law Rights

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

You are entitled to:

• a replacement or refund for major failure,
• a repair for minor issues, and
• compensation for reasonable, foreseeable loss caused by the failure.
